🐕 Pet walking and sitting

WALK OR SIT. GET PAID EITHER WAY
This week, we're talking about pet sitting and walking - a great way to make money if you're an animal lover or are looking for an excuse to get outside.
Pet sitting and walking is just what it sounds like - when someone is away you take care of their furry friend.
Whether that means a quick walk during the day or staying overnight to take care of a small cat. Kinda like babysitting but these ones don't whine, hopefully.
Who wouldn't want to cuddle and play with people’s pets and get paid? Alright, it’s not that simple but don’t be saddened, cuddling and playing with people’s pets are included!
You'll help pet owners worry less while they're away by taking care, playing, walking and loving their adorable furry friends.
That's right, I got that dawg in me 😂😂
If someone needs services like pet boarding, house sitting, dog walking or doggy daycare, that’s your cue! You can be their pet’s paw-rent for the day on the world’s #1 pet sitting and dog walking app - Rover.
You may also be familiar with Wag, another dog walking app, but based on our trusty friends over on Reddit, it looks like Rover is the app to be on.
Here's a summary of what I've found on Reddit:
PROS
You can set your own rates
You can choose which services you would like to offer and which dog sizes you want to accept
Good communication with clients prior to sitting or walking
CONS
Takes 20% of your earnings (Wag takes 40% though)
The insurance is limited
What kinda money we talkin?
A one-hour walk costs approximately $18-$30 per hour while pet sitters charge anywhere from $35-$70 per night or more depending on location.
Based on Glassdoor reviews, the average salary reported by pet sitters/dog walkers is $39,086 per year, which includes tips of $2,015 per year.
Here’s the experience of a pet care provider on Reddit who does boarding/house sitting as a side hustle on Rover and has earned $20,000 on the platform.
READY TO GET STARTED? HERE'S HOW:
1. Get setup
Like with any other app, the first thing you'll need to do is make an account.
You can start by downloading the app, creating your free Rover account and then setting up your profile on the app or head over to Rover’s website and click on “become a sitter”.
List the services you plan on offering, a short bio and your availability. Rover’s sitter team will review your profile for approval and do a background check.
Once you are approved, you will receive an email telling you how to get the Rover walking certification, after becoming certified you'll be posted on the Rover marketplace.
Pet owners can then see your profile and contact you if they feel you’re a good fit. Requests will start coming into the pending request section and you can review the request, check the profile, and secure the booking. You can also message the pet owner or meet them face-to-face and get to know them.
Pro tip - The best form of advertising is a satisfied customer - so make sure you take great care of those furry clients!
2. Qualifications
There are hardly any qualifications required. You will however be more successful if you have experience with animals, good customer service skills, reliable transportation and the ability to respond quickly to work messages.
After you are accepted, you will be asked to complete the Rover walking certification. It focuses on information about collars, harnesses, the app and safety and service expectations with quizzes.
Lastly, there is an in-person harness check to show what you’ve learned. The certification takes 2-3 days to complete after which you can accept walks anytime!
3. The Rover guarantee
Rover gives pet care providers assurance to act quickly, with the Rover guarantee - a program that protects pets in certain situations.
It can cover vet care up to $25,000 for a pet care provider’s pets or damage to a pet owner’s property and has 24/7 Rover support.
The best part? Rover insures you up to $1,000,000 or Damage to Pet Owner Property so you don’t get sued by Mr. Whiskers' owner because Fluffy ate her expensive shoes.
4. Get Walking!
If working with pets over people sounds paw-some, this is the job for you! And who knows, you might even make a few four-legged friends along the way.
Just don't let them get away...
Good luck and happy hustling!

Anyone with a speeding ticket hearing coming up, please DM me.
We want to build a @donotpay bot that listens to the court hearing via your AirPods and whispers what to say with GPT-3 and LLMs.
We just want to experiment and will pay the ticket, even if you lose!
