🧳 Exclusive speaker booking agency
😂 Meme of the day
WELCOME TO THE BIG LEAGUES
Alright guys, today I’ve got a banger business idea that I can confidently say if you follow the steps I lay out could probably do $5-$10 million dollars in a few years.
This business is doable by anyone with some grit and after all... if you're going to work hard on something, you might as well go big or go home because it's going to be hard either way.
So here's to millions in a few years! 🍻
What's the big idea?
Creating a speaker booking agency but for social media stars only 🙅♂️
There's a company called the Washington Speaker Bureau (WSB) that does this with regular celebs and makes $150M+
Why is this such a big business? Because tracking down celebrities for events is hard. How would you even go about getting in contact with Bob Iger, the CEO of Disney?
That's where a company like WSB comes in. They have ties with the biggest names in world and can get people at your event with one phone call.
And these celebrities charge crazy amounts of money:
Bob Iger, CEO of Disney, charges 200k
Coach K, retired coach of Duke college basketball, charges 50k
Imagine taking 10% of that just for being the middle man. That's 20k a booking for the big dogs.
You handle the booking, logistics, etc. The speaker just shows up and gets paid with no work on their end.
The Twist 🍋
I think you could do this exact business model but exclusively with social media stars.
Right now would be the perfect window because content creators are becoming the new A-list celebrities for people and company's will pay top dollar to have them show up because it:
Drives more ticket sales
Makes the event feel more legit
SO HERE'S THE 2 STEPS TO PULLING THIS OFF
1. Just get one
Your only goal is to get one big fish to let you book them for an event.
Start reaching out to creators and teams. It’s not that hard to do, you’ll be surprised how far a DM or email can go.
Starting off, say you're a speaker booking agency exclusively for content creators and provide the same benefits as other agencies but at half the price. and you're non-exclusive...for now.
Imagine getting someone like Mr.Beast or PewDiePie or Charlie D'Amelio. These are all huge names that will carry your business to the next step.
2. Fake it till you make it
Once you have someone like Mr.Beast (or smaller) under your belt, it's going to be a lot easier to start getting other content creators to exclusively sign with you.
You can say "Hey Mr.Beast is on board" and go from there. Let that big name carry your reputation and as you gain more creators, add them to the list of creators you mention when you're pitching your company.
Then build as you go. This definitely won't be a one-man show. It's going to be a lot of work and you'll need some help.
I'd first start by hiring a sales person to keep pumping in news clients and a logistics person to cover all the communication and work from speaker to event.
DOWN THE ROAD 🚦
If anyone wants Charlie D'Amelio to come speak at an event, they have to come to you because these creators are exclusively signed to YOU. That's why it's so important to start this now before they get swooped up.
You get a 10-20% cut of every speaker you book and the bigger names you get, the more money you make.
That’s exactly how the Washington Speaker Bureau does it and makes over $150M a year!
