GOLF IS EXPLODING BUT IS IT SUSTAINABLE?
Covid took golf from an old man sport to the modern age where everyone has tried it at least once during the pandemic. I think you might even be able to say it's "cool" now.
Participants are up, viewership is up, money spent on equipment is up and many are wondering "will this demand stick?"
Well LIV Golf sure thinks so. They're a new golf league funded by Saudi Arabia that, according to Forbes, dropped a reported $650 million on players contracts so far.
They've been swooping up PGA Tour players like Phil Mickelson for $200M and Dustin Johnson for $100M...crazy money.
For good reason. The US golf industry saw a big jump in 2020 and has seen over $2 billion of growth since 2014.

My Take: Golf is something a lot of people tried because they just had to get out of the house and now that's it's not just an old man sport anymore - I think it will continue to grow even more.
So here's two opportunities for you to take advantage of this trend ๐
1. Golf Etiquette & Rules MasterClass
I was literally one of these people that tried out golf for the first time during covid and I knew absolutely nothing about it.
I felt out of place, didn't know the rules, how to dress, or what different things meant. Like my buddy said "you're putting for bogey" and I got excited...
That's where a course teaching someone all the ins and outs of golf would be valuable. You'd help new golfers know what they're doing when they go out and "look like pros" on the course, even if they aren't.
It'd be like setting someone up for their first date but instead, their first round of golf.
Leave the "how to swing a golf club" to someone else. There's millions of videos and trainers that already do that. There's not many that do the little things, though.
2. Golf Content
With prices of everything going through the roof, golf is something a lot of people were doing and now may not be able to afford.
Add that to a new bigger golf community, golf viewership being up, and YouTube engagement being hotter than a Carolina Reaper - golf content is killing.
People doing this ๐
Multiple channels have been blowing up these past few years making millions of dollars.
If you're going out to play a round with your friends, you might as well film it too, especially if you have a comedian in the group.
A perfect example of this is Good Good Golf. It's 5 guys that go out and film themselves playing golf and it's absolutely exploded.
They've almost gained 1 million subs over the past 2 years:

Good Good sells apparel, putters, towels, divot fixers, hats, you name it. There's no public figures but if I had to guess these guys are pulling in $2M+ from YouTube and their golf apparel store alone.
