ON THE BRINK OF EXPLOSION
Cultivated meat is going bonkers.
Quick stats from last year:
$1.4B of investments were made in cultivated meat
107 new start-ups were created around cultivated meat
25 countries have at least one cultivated meat company
What is cultivated meat?
In the simplest explanation - itβs lab grown meat.
A lot of science goes on but what your finance geek can tell you is they:
extract muscle cells
replicate them
then boom - you get the same thing you started with, meat
Why is this getting so much attention and funding?
It solves 2 major problems:
Cows and animals make up 44% of the methane that goes into the ozone - this is terrible for the environment and heavily contributes to global warming
Our food security is not what we think it is - we saw this with covid and constrained supply chains leaving the freezer aisle for frozen chicken completely empty
Cultivated meat hasn't even been approved in the US yet - you're super early.
So how can you make money from this no brainer trend?
Here's two goodies that you can start today π
1. A Science Backed Blog π¬
What happens every time a new technology is built? People don't trust it, rumors spread and suddenly people don't know what's fact or fiction.
This leads people to seek out the truth and a science blog about cultivated meat would get a lot of traffic (that you can run ads on).
This blog would:
Clarify FUD people are hearing about cultivated meat
Show the pros and cons of the meat growing process
You don't even need to know about science to do this. Multiple studies have been done on cultivated meat and you can use those as your research.
I'm not a betting man but if I were, I'd bet on the search interest for "is cultivated meat harmful?" exploding in the next 6 months...it literally has no data to show when you search for it on Google Trends.
2. Certification Company βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ βοΈ
When cultivated meat goes mainstream, naturally grown meat will become a luxury and skyrocket in price.
From today's polls, some people view lab grown meat as too "unnatural". These are the people who are only going to eat natural meat.
But here's their dilemma: they won't be able to tell the difference. That's where you come in.
Similar to how foods today are "organic certified", meats will become the same way and your certification company will be the trusted source people use for naturally grown meat. Call it Angus Approver π
Honestly, I'm not too sure how you'd start something like this but I do know you need trust. If a tire company did it for restaurants (Michelin 3 Star), so can you.
RAPID FIRE TRENDS
𧨠Massive Put Options Buying
Sometimes, there's a chart that just blows your hair back.
In 22 years of doing this, none stand out like this one.
Last week, institutional traders bought $8.1 billion worth of put options. They bought less than $1 billion in calls.
This is 3x more extreme than 2008.

Why is this bad?
Buying put options means people think prices are going to fall and 3x more than '08...that's bonkers π€―
Companies are fearing a market crash and guess who has the most amount of information? Yep, companies!
𧨠Mortgage Rates Hit Highest Level Since 2008 Crash
The 30-year mortgage rate in the US rises to 5.89%, its highest level since November 2008. Last year it hit an all-time low of 2.65%.
The 3% spike in mortgage rates over the last year is the largest 1-year increase we've seen since 1980-81.

Higher interest rates = higher mortgage rates
The FED raises interest rates to fight inflation and with inflation still at 8.5%, I don't think we're anywhere close to done raising rates...so mortgage ratesπ
𧨠Home Prices Are Falling
1 in 5 home sellers are now dropping their asking price as the housing market cools, per Bloomberg.
