GO LIVE!

Unless you’ve been living under a rock these past couple of years, you’ve definitely heard of streaming.

When someone streams, they record what they are doing live, and you watch them in real-time. Usually, it’s people playing video games or just doing funny stuff.

The key difference between streaming and posting on Youtube, TikTok, or IG is that it's Live.

And one of the biggest players in this industry is Twitch. You might have heard names like Ninja, Adin Ross, Kai Cenat, and Speed. If you haven't, they're all top streamers who have garnered millions of views from streaming 8-10 hours daily.

But recently, Twitch has been under fire for:

  • Banning creators for no reason

  • Making their policies stricter

  • Removing any authenticity that creators have

For these reasons, many creators are moving to other streaming services. And one that is giving the people what they want is Kick.

Here’s how it works:

Streamers typically get paid through sponsorships, subscriptions, or viewers' donations (tips). But even at that, Twitch would keep 70% of it and give you 30%, which is practically nothing.

Kick, on the other hand, is now offering streamers:

  • A flat rate of $16/hr, paid every week. It’s a pretty decent rate compared to what some full-time jobs are offering.

  • Paid hours will only be counted if you're visible on the stream, awake, and engaging with your community.

  • 95% of any money you make on the platform you keep. Kick only takes 5%.

But the craziest part is, even if you have just 1 viewer or even 0, you’ll still be getting paid $16/hr! *Update (12/23): You have to stream for 4 hrs a day and 30 days a month to qualify for the $16/hr.

So basically, you can just set up your camera and stream regardless of what you're doing at the time. Whether you’re cooking, cleaning, doing chores, or playing video games.

Streaming 5/hrs a day could make an extra $2,200/month by legit living your everyday life. Yeah, 5 hours seems like a lot. But all you need to do is set up a camera and just do what you’d typically do. And who knows, you might be more interesting than you think!

How to Go Live on Kick:

  • Head to Kick.com and log in. If you don't have an account, create one.

  • Click the settings tab in the creator dashboard, then head to Stream Key.

  • Scroll down until you see the Stream URL and Key.

  • Open your streaming software, like OBS Studio, and enter your Stream URL and Stream Key.

  • Ensure the output settings match your computer’s, then head back to Kick

  • Click ‘Edit Stream Info’ in the bottom right. Name your new stream, categorize it, and decide on the primary language. Then click ‘Save.’

  • Now you can start streaming via your streaming software.

Early platforms pay to get people on their platform and I don’t know how long this will last but if I were you, I’d jump on it early – like yesterday!

And if you’re interested, Kick just gave xQc, a big ex-Twitch streamer, a $70 million 2-year deal. That’s more than most pro athletes 🤯
