YOUR FAVORITE SPORT YOU DIDN'T KNOW EXISTED
Can you guess one of the world’s fastest growing sports with over 25 million active players across 90 countries?
It's football! Nope! Tennis? Wrong again! Final chance - basketball? Try again.
Oh wait, you’re all out of guesses. I won't leave you hanging though.
It’s Padel!
Despite it being one of the world’s fastest-growing sports, like many people, you too may have not heard of it.
Padel is a racquet sport, it’s kind of like a mix between tennis, squash, and badminton.
If I had to paint you a picture, it’s more like racquetball because you can play the ball off the wall.
It's a great sport for all ages and because the game is played in doubles, it can be played with families. Points are won by strategy rather than strength and power, which makes it all the more interesting.
Padel gained popularity after celebrities around the world started playing. Neymar and David Beckham professed their love for Padel on Instagram!
It's gaining traction on Google 👀

And subreddit r/padel is gaining popularity even though it’s still in its infancy stage with a little over 4k members.

Here’s a Padel enthusiast on Reddit who explains why the sport is so addictive for so many people!
With this sport exploding there's so many ways you can make money - here’s two:
1. Opening Up Padel Courts
You might be thinking "How could this be a good opportunity if there are 100’s of tennis courts already?" Let me stop you right there, only about 65 padel courts exist in the US.
See, people can’t go to normal courts to play; they have to go to special padel courts that have surrounding glass and mesh.
Why build a padel court gym as opposed to a regular gym?Because padel courts are much cheaper. Gyms are extremely expensive to start because you have to buy all the pricey weight machines. That being said, this doesn't mean it's not going to cost anything.
According to Sage US, a modest gym studio costs around $65,000 and if you want to build a high-end gym it could easily run you $800,000. Whereas the average cost of a Paddle Court ranges from $45,000 to $85,000.
This may seem like a lofty number but when you run the numbers it makes sense.
According to LaPadel.com, currently Padel court memberships in the US cost around $150 a month with an initiation fee of $490. People can also book a court if they aren’t a member but it will cost around $55 per person per hour!
Let's say you build 4 courts to start at $60,000 a piece. That's $240,000 in upstart costs. It's a lot but don't be afraid of this number. You can get small business loans and you're going to make a lot from this business.
In the first 6 months if you get 200 members, what I think is a modest number, that's ($150/mo * 6 months * 200 members) + ($490 initiation fee * 200 members) = $278,000.
Meaning in the first six months you'll probably be breakeven with employee costs and interest on your loans. That's super quick!
Make even more by putting in a protein smoothie bar!
This applies even if you're not in the US, like I said it’s one of the world's fastest growing sports! UK, Italy, Sweden, Spain, Netherlands, Portugal, and even Finland are some of the countries showing an extreme interest in the sport!
2. The Padel Gaming App
Not many people have picked up on this idea yet.
Heroes of Padel, a game that has 100k+ downloads in the Google Play Store has surprisingly terrible reviews.
When I checked it out I found there are loads of bugs and crashes that make the game unplayable.
Almost all the reviews say something along the lines of “It’s a good idea, but not well executed.”
Clearly, there’s a market for this, and not much competition in this niche. You’d be able to grow organically with some good SEO (like including the sport “Padel” in the name of your app) and ride the wave of this growing sport.
How do you make money from an app like this? Follow how most games make money, in app purchases are the key! Make the app free to download and give users 2 free characters.
Then charge to unlock:
New outfits
Players
Or other creative upgrades you can think of - like playing in different locations!
What's nice about an app is once it's built, as long as the servers are running, you don’t have to do much.
Listen to customer feedback and fix bugs when they come up but for the most part, this isn’t something you have to constantly maintain and can make a decent buck.
Gaming apps with 100k downloads or less earn about $3,090 a day from in-app purchases!
Let's do some quick mathYou have 100,000 customers, imagine if just 10% of them made an in-app purchase of $10, that's $100,000! 😏
