IT'S PICTURE TIME ๐ธ
You know youโre at a bangin party if they have a photo booth. Itโs the ultimate flex - behind having Harry Styles sing at your birthday party.
Everyone wants pics when theyโre glammed up because duh! And of course, for the memories.
Who doesn't love taking silly pictures with friends in a photo booth? It keeps the memories from ever being forgotten!
What's crazy is how much you can make renting these things out
Here's the rates package for ilovephotobooth.com
Yeah, you're reading that right... $650 for just 3 hours! And that's on the lower end. The average is $700 - $1,200 and a corporate event can easily make you over $3,000.
A top-of-the-line photo booth like this Mirror Air Booth by Fotomaster is expensive at $8,950 but if you're making $650 - $3,000 an event. That's only 13 or 3 events to break even - then it's pure profit minus employee costs.
You can start to see how lucrative this really is when you have two photo booths each making you $900 an event. That's $1,800 for just one day and chances are you'll get two rentals per week - one on Friday and one on Saturday.
That means 2 events a week with one photo booth makes you $7,200/mo! Two photo booths? $14,400/mo!
Want to get in on this?
HERE'S HOW TO GET STARTED:
1. Buy your photo booth
Don't skimp out here. Buy the nicer, higher-quality photo booths and you'll thank yourself later.
When someone rents one of your booths you want them to be shocked at how good it looks. Not some janky one they could have bought themselves.
This is an experience business. The better experience your customers have with your photo booth, the more money you're going to make in the long run from repeat business and word of mouth referrals.
And like I said before, these things are expensive, which deters a lot of people - a good thing for you, less competition.
You don't have to buy from Fotomaster either, there are cheaper sites like HootBooth that offer photo booths ranging anywhere from $2,500 - $7,500. Just make sure they look nice to you because you want to the same impression from your customers.
Pro-tip: Buy funny glasses, crowns, hats, and hawaiian leis... any props that make the experience more fun!
You can also rent these out in the beginning but your margins will be slim. The real money will come from buying one and paying it off as you do events then making pure profit once it's paid off.
2. Push ads to your website
Next, you'll need some traffic and an easy way for you to get bookings. This will be through your website.
Run Facebook ads for your business and push interested people along to your site for a rental.
Potential customers should be able to easily contact you, get information about the photo booth availability, and book you through the website. It doesn't have to be anything crazy.
You donโt even need to know how to build a website. You can simply hire someone on Upwork or Fiverr to do this for you at an affordable price.
Pro-tip: Make sure you run Facebook Ads for your area. Since you're gonna need to transport these things around town, you might as well keep business close.
3. Use your network!
If ads sound daunting and too expensive, get creative.
Here are 4 things you can do to get customers:
Get in touch with event planners, photographers, and other people in the industry to create relationships so they start giving you leads (and if they don't, offer a 20% finders fee to sweeten the deal)
Hop on your own socials and see if your friends are interested or know people who are
Rent one out, throw a fake party, videotape it and make it into a tiktok, Instagram reel, or YouTube short and see if you get any DM's about it
Use your own network - find out if there are any birthdays or weddings coming up, get in touch with them and ask if they'd like a photo booth
You can always buy the photo booth after you've secured your first client, assuming they give you enough lead time.
4. Hire an hourly employee
In the beginning, you probably don't need an employee, especially if you only have one photo booth and do it on the weekends.
But once you scale up to two well... you can't be in two places at once and this employee will help set up and transport the photo booth to the event.
The average pay for a photo booth operator is $17 an hour.
Hire someone who:
Has amazing customer service
Is extremely nice and positive
And is willing to work hard!
Your workers will after all be the face of your business and determine if your photo booths get recommended for others parties.
That's all I got for ya! Get out there and make some serious money by making others happy ๐
