CREATOR’S RIGHTS MATTER

Here’s a hot take: creating diverse content is not as easy as it sounds! As a content creator, a lot of effort goes into creating videos for my YouTube and TikTok channels.

At face value, it might not look like a lot of effort but what if I said each TikTok video takes me about 4-5 hours and costs me $40? While creating a single youtube video takes me about 10-12 hours and costs me $300.

Now, imagine juggling all of that with audio quality, editing, camera angles, emails, comments, DMs, and brand deals….. you get the idea.

I’m sure you didn’t know that, and the truth is a lot of people don’t. Everyone thinks making videos is super easy, but it’s really not. There’s a reason why a creator's lifespan is, on average, 5-7 years. It can get mentally draining to keep up.

So, if there’s one thing EVERY creator hates, it’s someone taking their exact video and posting it on their channel.

It’s super easy to just download a video and post it on a memes page or whatever. Imagine putting in all that work just for someone else to get paid and build up their audience.

Well, I recently found a service you can provide to content creators to help with this.

You see, Facebook has something called a “rights manager

Here's how it works:

When you sign up, they’ll show you every video that closely matches yours. All you have to do is claim the video as being copyrighted, and the income that video generated goes straight to you. It’s super easy, and no one in the content creator space knows about this...yet.

So how can you turn into a side hustle? Here’s how I’d go about it:

Reach out to creators and tell them you’ll scour the internet and find videos of theirs that people are stealing – this should get their attention.

Also, add that whatever income you get, you’ll give them, let's say, 45% of. It doesn’t hurt them at all; they get free money for doing nothing.

They get to have their content removed from these pages that stole their video, and all you did was, click a few buttons, and you pocket the other half.

Honestly, it’s a win-win for everyone.

How to do this:

It’s super easy. All you need to do is:

  • Get access to the creator's FB page

  • Go to this link

  • Click "here”

  • You’ll be redirected to this page

  • Select the page and the type of content you want to protect.

  • Fill out the form

  • Then you’ll get a dashboard showing all the videos that match the videos from the creator you’re working with.

Just flag the video, and when you get paid, you give a percentage back to the creator - Bada bing, bada boom, just like that. And trust me, as a creator, we’d LOVE it if someone offered us this as a service.

The only thing is you can’t tell them how you’re doing it because it’s legit so easy that they can do it themselves… on second thought, creators have a lot going on. So honestly, we might still want you to do it for us 😂

Plus, it’s not just FB and IG; every social media app has a form of rights manager. I know YouTube does, for sure.

You can use either one of these tools to offer your service to content creators on YouTube and earn a quick buck.

There ya have it, folks. I strike again! Another day, another way to put some money in your pocket.
