Unique app idea to make $100M
the most exclusive (and expensive) dating app

It's Friday, let's boogie:

HALF-BAKED IDEA
I want to start something called âHalf-Baked Ideasâ
Theyâre the ones I havenât fully formed yet, and they just might turn out bad. Or they might turn into something great - no one really knows đ¤ˇââď¸
So letâs take a journey together down what Iâm calling âHalf-Baked Ideasâ
Shoutout Ben & Jerryâs.
Todayâs idea is: The most exclusive (and expensive) dating app youâve ever seen
Ever heard of Raya? The dating app for celebs.. yeah weâre throwing that out the window - not exclusive enough.
Say hello to TopPair, the dating app thatâs more exclusive than Harvard. Thatâs right, weâre aiming for under a 1% acceptance rate (Harvardâs is 4%)
How are you going to make this more exclusive than Harvard?Well, for one, any guy that wants to be on the app will have to pay $25,0000. Yep, you heard that right. This may seem like a lot but there are 5.3M millionaires in the US. Get just 4,000 and youâre at a $100 million business.
Price is a funny thing. People are always trying to compete on price. This is not that business. Youâre the most expensive and exclusive dating app there is - not Tinder.
Itâs already been proven people will pay a lot to be on dating appsA great example? The League, an exclusive dating app that charges $1,000 a month for the highest tier, was bought by the parent company of Tinder and Hinge for ~$30M.
Itâs a âslight flexâ that you can even get on the app in the first place. Kinda like buying Gucci slides. Theyâre the same as any other but since they have those green and red lines people are willing to pay $400.
Oh, and I almost forgot to mention.. How are we filtering the woman who can be on the app?
If men are going to pay $25,000, theyâre going to expect great women to meet. And thatâs exactly what the app will provide.
Only the best women get admitted. Smarts, personality, and looks will all come into play. Itâs like Harvardâs admission process. You gotta be the best of the best, thatâs how you build your reputation.
How would you get this off the ground?
I see two options:
#1 Get someone famous to promote it
Whether thatâs paying someone or giving them a percentage of the company (equity) with potentially more returns in the future.
#2 Paid Ads
Now with these you have to get creative. You canât just target a normal user on Facebook, they wonât have $25k to drop.
Iâd target a few groups:
Business owners - target âBusiness page adminsâ
Frequent International Travelers
ZIP code targeting - search by the wealthiest zip codes like Sagaponack, NY or Beverly Hills, CA
High-end device users - you can target by phone (Apple iPhone14 Pro) or operating system (MacOS Ventura is the newest)
And there ya have it. One of my Half-Baked ideas, straight to your kitchen table.
I have many more âout thereâ ideas so lmk if you wanna hear them!
