YOUTUBE SHORTS

About two years ago YouTube wanted to compete with TikTok because well… TikTok became the most used app in the world and YouTube was losing customers' attention.

To combat users flocking away YouTube created “Shorts” and to make sure this new short-form content didn’t flop, they instituted a $100M fund to reward creators to make short content.

Ever since then creators have been getting paid each month $100 to $10,000 from the fund depending on how viral their videos went. You don’t even need to be in the YouTuber partner program (the one where you need 4,000 hours watched and 1,000 subscribers to start monetizing).

Here’s a channel called Carzeyy that does Minecraft shorts with facts voiced over and is making $12,000 per month... plus, they only had 700 subscribers one year ago.

Today this is what I'm going to show you how to do. A perfectly legal way to make a shorts channel without ever showing your face or making a single video, and making the content copyright free.

HERE'S THE SIMPLE 4 STEP GUIDE

1. Find what's hot on TikTok

For satisfying TikTok accounts you can use a page like “drip" or "sosatisfying". Makeup, woodworking, and gaming videos also do really well.

This channel compiles all the satisfying TikTok's on one page.

You want to find the videos that are blowing up these pages because if they're going viral on TikTok, chances are they'll also go viral on YouTube.

These are the videos you want to download. To do this click "copy link" on the video.

For example, I'm going to use this car detailing video that has 48.1k views.

2. Take the watermark off

Next you're going to take this video and get rid of the TikTok watermark. YouTube doesn’t want their competitor's name anywhere on their videos and they actually won’t promote these.

You can use a free website like SnapTik to take it off. It’s pretty simple, you paste the TikTok link and click download.

3. Make it copyright free

Now that you have the TikTok video, you need to alter it to make it your own so you don't get copyright strikes on your channel.

The easiest way to do this is to use free software like Canva and add a black bar to the top and bottom of the video.

Then you’re going to say something such as “Rate this wash 1-10” and “Comment Below!” - like this:

You could even add your own watermark with all the shapes and designs Canva offers to make it even more yours.

This not only makes it non-copyright but also increases the chances of it going viral because there's a call to action with people leaving comments and the algorithm will promote these more.

4. Post it to YouTube

If you don’t have a YouTube channel don’t sweat, it’s really simple, just create a Gmail account and you can get started.

In the title and description part of the video you’re going to say something like “Satisfying Car Detailing #shorts"

This #shorts is super important because it’s going to push your video to the shorts algorithm and help with views.

Then you’re going to have this section called “Tags” where you're going to put anything related to the video. Tags are descriptive keywords to help viewers find your content.

And if you download the free extension vidIQ, it auto-populates for the most trending tags like “Car Detailing”, “Car Wash”, etc.

You can fill this section up with 500 characters and I’d recommend using all the characters so your video applies to as many keywords as possible to help the algorithm push your content.

From here, you’re going to repeat steps 1-4 and push out as many videos as you can.

2023 is the year for shorts

Now the real reason I brought you this side hustle today is that in 2023 YouTube is going to start putting AdSense on Shorts meaning you can start making a ton of money.

You will need to be in the YouTube Partner Program, which requires 4,000 hours watched and 1,000 subscribers, or for shorts, 1,000 subscribers and 10M views, which honestly is doable in 2 months.

AdSense is going to allow you to earn just like a regular YouTuber does and make 55% of the ad money that plays in between the shorts. It will be much lower than a full-on YouTube channel with long-form content but it's also 100x easier.

TIPS FROM YA BOY 👀

  • Drive engagement however you can - the more comments and likes you can get, the more the video will be pushed by the algorithm

  • If your channel does receive a strike it will most likely be for the audio - detach the audio in iMovie and add a different soundtrack
